Maddie and Corey’s story begins as many modern love tales do – through a dating app. It was a quick turnaround from first message to first date, as Corey was about to head home to Atlanta for a few weeks and knew if he didn't act now, the dating app conversation could quickly dwindle. Corey suggested a local pizza place after advice from some friends and as it turns out, the suggestion inspired those friends to also go there that same night (photo evidence below).

Corey arrived and texted Maddie that he was waiting by the door - however, he was quickly seated. When Maddie walked in she immediately greeted the only man near the door (wearing a face mask as it was 2021) with an enthusiastic "Hi Corey!" He replied with a simple "nope" and made it clear he was in fact the bouncer, leaving Maddie frazzled as she found her way to the table. After relaying her awkward encounter, Corey, without missing a beat, said “Oh him? We get that all the time."

Maddie immediately loved this quip, and the comfort and ease of conversation flowed from there. While they were bummed their next date would not be possible for nearly a month, there was no doubt they'd see each other again. This prioritization of each other has been a constant for Maddie and Corey since that evening. They bring out the best in one another and have a shared joy of planning memorable experiences with their friends and family. While June 21st is their most anticipated planning endeavor yet, they know it is just the beginning - the best is yet to be.
